The University of Michigan proudly announces the 2005-2006 Michigan Youth Ensembles season. Begun in 1950, this
school year program brings together over 350 talented pre-college musicians from throughout Michigan and northern Ohio.
Michigan Youth Ensembles give students the opportunity to
work with notable conductors, rehearse in a university setting, and receive coaching from University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance faculty and students. A musicianship course is offered for those students interested in majoring in music. This year’s program
offerings also include a Harp Ensemble.
Participants are also afforded the opportunity to audition for scholarships to the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and its affiliated summer programs.
