MICHIGAN YOUTH ENSEMBLES

Overview

The University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre & Dance announces audition, rehearsal and performance dates for the

2008-2009 Michigan Youth Ensembles (MYE) Program.  Beginning its 58th season, this academic-year program provides a

unique opportunity for talented, pre-college students to work with notable conductors, rehearse in a university setting, and receive coaching from University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance faculty and students. 

In addition to the ensemble offerings, participants may also choose to enroll in a Musicianship Course that provides instruction in

music theory, analysis and aural skills.

MYE participants are given the opportunity to audition for merit award scholarships to the UM School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and the MPulse Ann Arbor summer youth program.  Application and audition information is mailed to MYE members in early December.

If you missed the March 31 application deadline, YOU CAN STILL APPLY. 

A September 14, 2008 audition date has been set.  We encourage you to use our online application process.  If you are

unable to do so, application and brochure can be downloaded.  You may apply anytime, but no later than September 8, 2008.  Applications must be received by this date!

Teacher's Note:  A Sunday, September 14, 2008 audition date has been set to fill vacancies and accommodate new students

enrolling in Michigan schools.  Applications must be received by September 8, 2008!
