The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance educates the artists, scholars, educators and entrepreneurs of the future. A group of jazz percussion student will spend spring break in Cuba, for a week of study and performance with Cuban musicians and students, as well as an immersive exploration of Cuban culture and history.
SMTD has partnered with the Gershwin family to bring the music of George and Ira Gershwin to students, scholars, performers and audiences across campus and worldwide.

A select SATB choir composed of outstanding vocalists from across the state. Chamber Singers students sing challenging and varied repertoire, both accompanied and a cappella, in an energizing and educational setting.
Interested students must complete the MYE online application. Applications are released in January of each year. The $45 non-refundable application fee can be paid online by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) or mailed as check/money order payable to University of Michigan.
All interested students, regardless of previous participation, must audition for MYCS. Please visit the auditions page for audition dates and requirements.
All students who audition in April will receive their admission notification by June 1st.
