Jazz Pedagogy for the Music Teacher

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

 

This workshop will help educators learn how to teach beginning improvisation, conduct a jazz ensemble and combo and locate necessary reference texts, music and recordings.  In addition to a typical lecture format participants will get to play and sing in order to master concepts

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS:

 

This workshop has been approved by the State of Michigan to offer SB-CEU’s.

Total Number of CEU: 2.1

GRADUATE CREDIT:

 

Graduate credit is available.  The ‘Jazz Pedagogy for the Music Teacher ' workshop may be taken for 2 credits (graduate level) through the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and transferred to another institution’s graduate program.
