DONATIONS

Those wishing to donate items to the Collection should contact Joseph Lam at 734 936-2891 or e-mail at jsclam@umich.edu.  Donations are subject to approval.  Further information is available upon acceptance.

Some Benefits of Donating

1. Donations of items are tax-deductible to the value established by a third-party appraisal.  This value may exceed any amount offered by an antique dealer or auction house.  Please see the IRS website and/or IRS publications 526 ("Charitable Contributions") and 561 ("Determining the Value of Donated Property") for information.
    
2. Future generations interested in the history of musical instruments will have the opportunity to share in the enjoyment of the item, as well as learn from its history.
    
3. Donating an instrument is an excellent way to honor the memory of loved ones.
