RESEARCH PROPOSAL PROCESS  

Procedures for Submission of Research Proposals for Grants and Sponsored Projects

(a)     Develop goals and objectives for a project


(b)     Locate a funding agency

(c)    Write a proposal that includes a budget

  • A proposal, which must include a budget, is jointly submitted to the Assoc. Dean for Research and Planning and to the Business Manager for Personnel & Finance (Business Manager).

(d)     Initiate internal review

  • Department Chair Consultation (required; see Roles)
  • Events Committee (optional depending on research outcomes)
  • Internet Publication Task Force (optional depending on research outcomes)
  • Faculty Research Committee (required)

(e)     Submit for external review

  • OVPR (IMPORTANT: Note deadlines, published here.)
  • DRDA (IMPORTANT: Note deadlines, published here.)

(f)     Grant Awards

  • Fund disbursement coordinated with Business Manager
  • Accounting procedures established between the Business Manager and Principal Investigator (PI) or Project Director.

(g)     Grant Implementation


(h)     Research / Project Conclusion

  • Project evaluation
  • Financial accounting
  • Report to sponsor
