Project Lovelace research was funded by the James A. and Faith Knight Foundation and focused on teaching music technology to girls at a teen drop-in center (non-credit program) as well as a mixed gender K-12 music class at regional middle school (credit program). Five modules were developed for each of the programs. The modules, below, are adaptations of the in-class modules that will facilitate continued learning on-line.

- Module 1 introduces the fundamental aspects of sound.
- Module 2 introduces GarageBand and GarageBand's loop editor.
- Module 3 discusses some of the complexities of adding instruments.
- Module 4 introduces some of the more advanced features of GarageBand.
- Module 5 explains how to export GarageBand songs to iTunes, mp3 players, and Audacity.
