The online application for 2009 will be available on or about August 18, 2008.
FALL 2008 (Classes begin in September 2008)
All programs are currently closed for Fall 2008.
General Graduate Deadlines
For programs that require an audition and/or interview, application deadlines are listed under the section entitled “Audition Dates and Requirements.”
The School of Music, Theatre & Dance publishes three equal consideration deadlines of:
December 1
Firm application postmark date for merit-based award consideration in all programs which require an audition or interview—composition, composition and theory, conducting, media arts, music education, and performance. Application files must be complete by February 20, 2009, to be eligible for financial award consideration. Complete applications must include the Request for Audition/Interview page of the application, resume, repertoire list (if applicable), all transcripts, any required test scores, three recommendations, and audition/interview/portfolio results.
Firm deadline for applicants living outside North America to apply and to submit a DVD or video taped audition for the 2009-10 university year with merit-based scholarship consideration.
January 2 (first working day in January)
Deadline for Dance and Music Theory.
January 15
Deadline for all graduate programs in Musicology and Ethnomusicology.
February 1
Equal consideration deadline for all programs.
The School of Music, Theatre & Dance will continue to accept applications after February 1 for admission without fellowship / instructorship consideration in programs for which openings still exist (see the Closed Program information above). Highly competitive programs may close at any point after December 1.
