Ron Torrella is an administrative and legal assistant at the School of Music where he primarily provides legal support, specializing in copyright law, for the Internet Publication Project and Block M Records. Mr. Torrella completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Assistant (Paralegal) Studies at Eastern Michigan University in May 2006, graduating magna cum laude.

Before embarking on a new career in May 2005, Mr. Torrella enjoyed a successful career as a university piano technician with appointments at Michigan State University, The Wichita State University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Michigan. He maintains a limited private practice as a piano technician.

A classically trained pianist (UC-CCM, B.Mus. in piano performance, '83) Mr. Torrella presents occasional solo and chamber recitals on harpsichord, fortepiano, and the modern piano. His leisure pursuits include reading, bat house building & installation, running, roadbiking, and building & piloting radio-controlled aircraft.
