Network Overview

The School of Music, Theatre & Dance computer network spans the University of Michigan Central and North Campuses.

The main location for computer resources is the E.V. Moore building, where the network servers are located.

Additional SoM offices, studios and labs are located in Burton Tower, Dance, Stearns, Revelli Hall, Modern Languages Building and the Duderstadt Center.

90% of the School's computers are Apple Macintoshes.  The remaining 10% are Windows-based computers.

Server Overview

The School of Music, Theatre & Dance servers handle intradepartmental file sharing, technological support and web serving.

The following is a summary of the servers' usage and instructions on how to access them.

Notes:

  • If you are logging into the Departmental, Database or Lab servers, your passwords are independent of each other and your Kerberos password.
  • For security and usage reasons, if you are not actively using the server connections, your connection will be severed by the server.
  • Please notify Beth Burr if:
    1. You (or someone working with you in an academic unit) require access to a particular School of Music, Theatre & Dance server.
    2. You have forgotten your password and need to have it reset
