Ron Torrella is a research administrator for the School of Music, Theatre & Dance. Torrella also provides legal support, specializing in matters related to copyright in music and sound records.
In a former life, Torrella enjoyed a successful career as a university piano technician with appointments at Michigan State University, Wichita State University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Michigan.
A classically trained pianist (UC-CCM, B.Mus. in piano performance, '83) Torrella occasionally presents solo and chamber recitals on harpsichord, fortepiano, and the modern piano. His leisure pursuits include reading, bat house building and installation, running, road and mountain biking, and building and piloting radio-controlled aircraft.
