Sean Hoskins

Dance Technology Coordinator & Production Assistant

Sean Hoskins is a choreographer, teacher, performer, and screendance creator originally from Bennington, VT. He began dancing in the richly experiential program at Middlebury College and has remained active in multiple facets of the dance field ever since. He received his MFA from the University of Michigan, where he specialized in choreography and dance for the camera. He has shown his choreography in New York City, Detroit, Boston, and San Francisco, as well as at the National College Dance Festival in Washington, D.C. Sean performed with Leslie Seiters' little known dance theatre, Chavasse Dance & Performance, and Peck Peck Dance, as well in works by Paul Matteson, Peter Schmitz, Jessica Fogel, Terri Creach, Susan Sgorbati, Melissa Beck, and Esduardo Mariscal.

As a teacher, Hoskins directed the Dance program at Blair Academy and has led classes and workshops at Middlebury and Bates Colleges, U-M, Oakland University, Berwick Academy, and at a number of regional American College Dance Festivals.

Hoskins is the dance technology coordinator and production assistant at U-M, where he instructs courses in software and technology to dance students and supports departmental production needs, along with a variety of other duties. He teaches courses and workshops in Improvisation, Modern Dance technique, Dance for the Camera, Music & Dance Relationships, and Dance Production. Hoskins also continues to choreograph and perform whenever possible, as well as create dances for the camera and investigate new technologies.
