Catherine Adams

Catherine Walker Adams received a bachelor of music education from Capital University Conservatory of Music, and a master of music in choral conducting from Western Michigan University School of Music. Ms. Adams has worked on professional, community, and high school productions at The Red Barn, The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, Island Center Productions, Three-D Productions, and Portage Northern High School. Most recently she was Music Director at the Derby Dinner Playhouse in Louisville, Kentucky. She joins U-M  Musical Theatre Department from Portage Northern High School where she held the position of director of choral activities. Ms. Adams’ ensembles have been selected to perform at the Midwest Conference, ACDA State Convention and Michigan Youth Arts Festival.  Her choirs have performed at Carnegie Hall as well as in Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy. She has been selected as a State Honors Choir Director and has presented at the Midwest Conference,  Michigan Music Conference,  and MSVMA Summer Workshop.

Her conducting mentors include: Dr. Craig S. Arnold, Dr. Rodney Eichenberger and Dr. Joe Miller.
