Project Author

If you are wondering who the "I" or the "me" is on all of these pages, it's Dr. Jeffrey Lyman, Associate Professor of Bassoon here at the University of Michigan. I've been collecting this music for about twelve years now, some of it while I lived and worked in Arizona, and much more of it now that I have joined the faculty here in Ann Arbor. After a visit to Oaxaca in 2008, I realized that I had enough of a collection to coordinate it all into a formal project, and my conversations with bassoonists around the world told me that very little of this music was known, even in Mexico. So again, thanks for visiting, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about the music and the site.
