Bachelor of Music in Performance: Harp

The Bachelor of Music in Performance: Harp is designed for harpists who wish to work in solo and ensemble performance and teaching. Students desiring to teach in elementary or secondary schools should elect a curriculum in music education (described elsewhere).

Pre-College Music Preparation

Several years of study on harp are required; experience in orchestral and chamber music is desirable; piano study is recommended.

Curriculum

  • Core Curriculum

  • Eight terms of private performance instruction (including the Core requirement) and presentation of a recital

  • Thirty hours of non-music courses including the University's English requirement (included in the Core)

  • Electives to complete a total of 120 hours
