Pre-screening Requirement (updated May 2009)

Applicants to Master of Music in String Performance or the Specialist in Music in String Performance must submit by December 1 an unedited recording (DVD) of at least three contrasting pieces for preliminary examination before an audition will be scheduled.  Movements of larger works are acceptable.  Please label the recording as pre-screening and list all tracks on the DVD case.  Recordings should be sent to the Auditions Coordinator in the Office of Admissions and Student Services.

Upon a favorable evaluation of this recording, your resume, repertoire list, and collegiate transcripts, an audition may be scheduled.

The pre-screening DVD requirement is waived for current University of Michigan undergraduate string majors applying to the M.M. or Specialist programs.
