School of Music, Theatre & Dance Graduate Requirements and Dates

Carillon

Applicant should prepare three pieces:

    1.  Two significant compositions for carillon, at least one of which is contemporary

    2.  An arrangement or transcription of any music from any genre for carillon.

Applicant should also be prepared to demonstrate (where applicable) ability in improvisation and arranging.

 

Organ

Prepare at least fifteen to twenty minutes of music including:

  1. A major work of J. S. Bach (e.g., a prelude and fugue, trio sonata, large chorale prelude, or equivalent)
  2. A composition of the Romantic period
  3. A contemporary composition

Memorization is recommended if you are applying for admission in organ performance. Memorization of the audition repertoire is optional if you are applying in Church Music.
