The department of music theory offers the following degree programs:

Undergraduate Degree Programs:

• Bachelor of Music in Theory
• Bachelor of Musical Arts - allows students the flexibility to develop secondary (cognate) fields of interest.

Rackham Graduate Degree Programs

• Certificate Program in Music Theory Pedagogy - offered to students enrolled in the doctoral programs (D.M.A., Ph.D., and Ed. D.)
• Doctor of Philosophy in Music Theory
• Doctor of Philosophy in Composition and Music Theory
