Peter Sparling and Ann Arbor Dance Works Guest Artist, Maggie Boogaart Showing

An informal showing of works in progress Friday, May 18, 4:00PM at the UM Dance Building. As part of the annual Ann Arbor Dance Works spring programming, Peter was joined by local dancer/choreographers Holly Hobbs and Corinne Imberski and guest artist Maggie Boogaart. in a showing of new work that incorporates video in both process and performance. They demonstrated how Peter's improvised movement--captured on tape--becomes the danced "text" for danced soliloquies, conversations, and exchanges between the real and the virtual. Boogaart, a Dutch artist currently living and working in Paris, also performed excerpts from her solo work.
