Ten hours of conducting, to include the seminar in the area of specialization (band/wind ensemble, choral, orchestral) and directed performance in conducting as appropriate
Completion of one seminar in a secondary area of conducting: band/wind ensemble and orchestral conductors must elect choral seminar, and choral conductors must elect orchestral seminar
Four hours of aural skills for conductors
Three hours of music theory
Three hours of musicology
Three additional hours in either music theory or musicology
Four hours of performance
Participation in an ensemble each term in residence
Electives to complete a total of thirty-two hours
Presentation of a final conducting project consisting of two or more conducting appearances, one of which must be with a School of Music, Theatre & Dance major ensemble (other appearances may be with non-major or ad hoc ensembles)
