The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance Florence Spring program is:

  • An intensive performance program for young singers and pianists with a student/faculty ratio of no more than 5:1. Students and faculty live and study in a landmark villa noted for the very beginnings of Italian opera.
  • A program with a unique, exceptional Italian language course for all levels designed specifically for the needs of singers.
  • A program in which opera scenes, private lessons, language study, masterclasses, and attendance of live opera are all integrated into a unique learning experience.
  • A spring-term program providing 7-8 U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance credits.
  • A cultural exchange program of immeasurable value.
