Jazz

All students who receive School of Music, Theatre & Dance merit-based scholarships are required to participate each semester in one of the ensembles marked with an asterisk (*) or for some jazz degrees (**); doctoral students are exempt.

** Jazz Ensemble	1 or 2 credits

** Jazz Lab Ensemble	1 or 2 credits
Big-band jazz ensemble, standard repertory inc. Basie, Ellington, Thad Jones Placement by audition - highly selective Audition Repertoire Rehearses MW 2:30 - 4:30PM, Britton Recital Hall Contact: Dennis Wilson, Assistant Professor (Jazz & Contemporary Improvisation)

Creative Arts Orchestra	1 or 2 credits
Eclectic improvisation-based ensemble Placement by audition - highly selective Rehearses TTh 5:30 - 7:30PM, Rehearsal Hall Contact: Mark Kirschenmann, Lecturer (Jazz & Contemporary Improvisation)

Small Jazz Ensembles	1 or 2 credits
Small combos in varying instrumentations Placement by audition - highly selective Audition information Full Class Meeting Monday 6-8PM. Campus Jazz Ensemble (ENS 360)	1 or 2 credits
