ORCHESTRAS (not for Campus Bands or Orchestras)


Screened auditions except as noted. Audition sign-up sheets will be posted by Tuesday, September 1st on the Band and Orchestra Bulletin Boards next to Rm. 1320 (Rehearsal Hall). Be prepared to play the excerpts listed below and STRING PLAYERS should be prepared to play (2) minutes of a solo piece at any callback auditions.

ALL AUDITIONEES ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP DURING THE AUDITION TIMES FOR THEIR INSTRUMENT.

SPECIAL NOTE: There may be callbacks for any string instrument. These callback auditions (which may or may not be screened) may be for final determination as to who will be in which orchestra, final placement between orchestras, or initial placement within the particular orchestral ensemble.

You may download the music by clicking the instrument links below. The majority of these pieces can also be found in standard excerpt books, or you can make a copy from the excerpts held on reserve in the Music Library (3rd floor) at the School of Music.
