Who gets invitations in the mail?
Only graduates of the current term receive invitations in the mail. Graduates from previous terms (such as the previous December) will not receive printed invitations in the mail.
I graduated in December, but I want to walk in the April ceremony, how do I do this?
You will need to contact Rachel Francisco rachaf@umich.edu by the end of February to ensure you are on the correct list. Telling DeeDee Ulintz or Rachel in November or December that you prefer to walk in April will not get you on the list.
Do I need a ticket?
Graduates to not need a physical ticket. Your cap and gown will get you in the door.
Why am I limited to the number of guest tickets?
The School of Music, Theatre & Dance are currently graduating the largest classes ever. The Power Center seats just over 1,300 people.
Do we have a rehearsal for commencement?
No.
What do we do about parking?
All University structures are open and free to the public commencement weekend. The Power Center has an adjacent parking structure.
What is the schedule the day of commencement?
3:30 p.m. - Graduate check-in begins - Power Center Rehearsal Room
Power Center Lobby opens to guests
3:45 p.m. - Handicapped seating begins
4:00 p.m. - Auditorium opens for general seating
4:30 p.m. - Commencement ceremony begins
6:45 p.m. - Reception in the Power Center lobby
