Admission to the School of Music, Theatre & Dance is highly competitive. The 2008 entering class had an average GPA of 3.56. Once applicants qualify academically, the audition and interview phase of the application process begins.
The School is committed to continuing to attract the best and the brightest. In order to do so, we must be able to offer the top applicants a support package that can compete with other conservatories and schools who are just as eager to recruit the best as we are and can sometimes offer more financial support.
Here are some ways to support scholarships at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance:
- Donate to the expendable portion of an already existing scholarship endowment fund, such as the Alumni Society Scholarship Fund, Marching Band Scholarship, School of Music, Theatre & Dance Scholarship Fund, or scholarships earmarked for a specific instrument or discipline.
- A printable donation form is available by clicking here or you can make a gift online.
- Donate to the principal of an existing endowed scholarship, thereby increasing its value and raising the amount available for distribution each year.
- For a list of all the School's Endowed Funds (including scholarships), click here.
- Create and fund an annual named scholarship—named for a loved one or a beloved professor or in celebration of your own love of the arts—where the full amount of your donation each year goes directly to the student.
- Create a named endowed scholarship where the interest generated each year is given out as a scholarship to a deserving student as the endowment continues to grow and the payout increases. Endowed scholarships begin paying out interest once they have reached $25,000.
