These bells are played daily on five of the Baird Carillon bells, each quarter hour from 9:15 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The selection heard here is the last part of the hour strike melody and the bourdon (largest, 12-ton) bell striking the hour twice.

The Victors

This tune by Louis Eibel, a member of the class of 1899, is one of the best known fight songs in the nation. Every Michigan grad will recognize the melody. The selection heard here is the second half of the song. The words of the chorus are:
Hail! to the victors valiant, hail! to the conq-ring heroes,
Hail! Hail! to Michigan, the leaders and best.
Hail! to the victors valiant, hail! to the conq-ring heroes,
Hail! Hail! to Michigan, the champions of the west.
