Esther Chae, Jeremy Kittel, and Michael Spencer Phillips

Each fall, as part of the School’s Annual Reunion, alumni award winners coming to campus to receive Hall of Fame, Emerging Artist, or Paul Boylan Awards are tapped into to present to current students on their expertise in their respective fields. This year, three alumni winners will present performances, master classes, and lectures to students:

Esther Chae, MA ’95, theatre & drama, 2010 Emerging Artist in Theatre winner, will present her one-woman show, So the Arrow Flies, which she also wrote, on October 15, 8:00 p.m. in Studio One at the Walgreen Drama Center, after the Alumni Reunion Awards ceremony and reception at 4:30. There will be a talk-back afterwards; seating is limited to 100.

Jeremy Kittel, BFA ’04, jazz and improvisation studies, 2010 Emerging Artist in Music winner, now a member of the Turtle Island String Quartet, will work with the U-M Jazz Ensemble at 3:30 p.m. and with U-M strings students at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, both sessions in the Rehearsal Hall at the School.

Michael Spencer Phillips, BFA ’99, dance, 2010 Emerging Artist in Dance winner and member of RIOULT, the Pascal Rioult Dance Company, will teach a technique class on Thursday, October 14 and speak at the Department of Dance Senior Seminar on Friday, October 15 (these presentations are open only to dance students).
