PAT Anniversary Concert
October 2010
Twenty-five years ago, when the first home computers were coming out, no one could have imagined what artists would be doing with the technology down the road. In 1985, when the Center for Performing Arts Technology was approved by the Board of Regents, it was simple music notation. Today it’s awe-inspiring multi-media, surround-sound, total immersion performances. Where will it go next?
Find out at the Duderstadt Media Center at Pierpont Commons on North Campus on Friday, November 5, beginning at 11:00 a.m., and running all afternoon, with a reception at 4:00 in Studio Two at the Walgreen Drama Center, right next door. Students and faculty will offer demonstrations, workshops, and performances, including a concert by the Mobile Phone Orchestra and a lecture on integrating emerging technologies into music performance. The grand finale is the Anniversary Concert at Rackham Auditorium, 8:00 on Saturday, November 6, with media installations in the lobby. Come be amazed. All events are free.
