Michigan Theatre students win at Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region III

January 2006

In January the Department of Theatre sent eight BFA in Design and Production majors to compete in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region III in Bloomington, Illinois. This year's festival saw over 1800 student participants including over 270 participants in the design categories. This was the largest Region III festival in the history of ACTF. 

 

NATIONAL DESIGN FINALISTS

Barbizon Set Design Award    Janine Woods Romeo & Juliet  

This is especially significant because this category is usually won by graduate students. With this win she has earned the right to compete in the National ACTF to be held in Washington D.C. in April of this year.

This is the 10th year in a row that a U. of M. lighting student has won the first place award in the Lighting Projects category.
