SMTD Composers Commissioned for Seattle Symphony

Bright Sheng and Paul Schoenfield, composers on the School’s faculty, have each been commissioned to write new works on the occasion of Seattle Symphony music director Gerard Schwarz’s farewell 2010-2011 season. All of the composers invited to contribute have long-standing relationships with the maestro. “I am humbled that these creative artists have agreed to participate in this project,” Schwarz said. “I know it will make my final year especially memorable for me.”
