Bolcom, Kittel honored at Detroit Music Awards

The Motor City Music Foundation awarded its Detroit Music Awards on May 18, 2006 at the State Theatre in Detroit. Among the winners were alum Jeremy Kittel (Outstanding Folk Artist/Group; Outstanding Jazz Composer; Outstanding Jazz Recording), composition faculty William Bolcom (Outstanding Classical Composer) and the Grammy-winning recording of William Bolcom’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience featuring the University Symphony Orchestra and University Choirs (Outstanding Classical Recording). Award winners are determined by local musicians and music industry professionals in southeast Michigan.
