SCHOLARSHIP SHOWCASE: A MUST-SEE EXTRAVAGANZA!

September 2008

Elizabeth Goolian

Each fall, the School of Music, Theatre & Dance stages a lively concert of performances by our many talented students in an event created to acknowledge and recognize donors who support scholarships for our students. This is a chance for donors to meet the very students who are benefiting from their generous funding and see for their own eyes what their donations generate.

Please join us at 4:00 p.m. for a lively program by the talented students from our many disciplines: musical theatre, piano, dance, strings, theatre, winds and percussion, jazz, and voice. This is a mini collage concert, with brief performances following closely, one after the other.

Some of the many things you will witness include: A performance of Stephen Sondheim’s “Agony” from Into the Words. An aria from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. A divertimento for flute, oboe and clarinet. A jazz ensemble performance. A dance performance. A piano solo of a work by Scriabin. A Vaughan Williams suite for viola.

It’s a whirlwind of dynamic performances from the School’s brightest and best. You won’t want to miss this one!
